We have an experienced team of instructors, through a wide range water sports all of whom have current Surf Lifesaving GB (SLSGB) lifeguard, International Surfing Association (ISA) or Academy of Surf Instructor (ASI) Surf and SUP qualifications, as well as full child disclosure.
SAM SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
“I love the stoke you get from helping a customer get their first wave! The advances in coaching tools for performance surfing is really exciting!!” Scottish Juniors team coach, ASI Level 3 Surf and Stand Up Paddle and ISA Surf Judge with twelve years of coaching all levels. Sam won the 2009, 2010, 2016 Scottish National Longboard surf titles.
JOSH SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
“whether its doing a backflip on a bodyboard or flying down the face of a big wave on a surfboard – it’s all rad!!!” ISA Level 2 Surf Instructor, ASI SUP Level 3 Instructor, and Bodyboard coach. Eleven years teaching experience and two decades Scottish surfing experience. Josh is among the top bodyboarders in the UK. His acrobatic skills have won the Scottish Bodyboarding title multiple times.
LISA – COAST TO COAST OFFICE MANAGER
Lisa is our super awesome office Manager! She brings a load of energy, a fair slice of Celtic charm and a happy smile daily to help our operation tick. It’s likely the first person from Coast to Coast you speak to will be Lisa and shes even developing her skills, now an international ISA surf judge and an ISA SUP instructor!
ADAM SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Adam is one of the top Snowboarders in Scotland and swaps crafts to become a really good surfer in the summer! He is an excellent surf instructor, calm, funny and brings a wealth of cross over board knowledge. He’s also full of energy and positive every day!
Jake has been with the team since 2013, from our Junior Assistants to full instructor in 2016. Always with a smile, Jake is super laid back but very bright and was the most improved instructor of our team in 2016! A real asset to the team!
Local Dunbar surf grom, Oisin joined our team in 2013 from school surfing courses and was a brilliant addition. Like Jake hes both grown physically and mentally with surf school, being super knowlegeable and very likeable! Oisin has a flow like Rob Machado and with a name that sounds like “ocean”, the future is destined to be rad for this young man! And he also made the scottish junior surf team in 2016!
Edinburgh surf grom, Iona joined our team from school surfing courses and has improved so much in 2016. She’s great with kids and this year became our youngest ever instructor at 17yrs! She’s also a great surfer coming 2nd at the Gathering of the Clans Ladies division this year!
At coast to coast we pride ourselves on developing our junior surfers, many of which benefit from years of surf development and in-house training before becoming Coast to Coast instructors. The next generation are below
Clover has been kicking about the surf school for a decade, learning off the extended surf family! Now aged 14yrs Clover is part of the Scottish Junior Surf team. She is also up for everything, froths on Stand Up Paddling, skates on a Carver quicker than the senior instructors and jumps off the highest Coasteering cliffs. Loads of talent what will 2017 bring?
We also have a junior surf team, many you may spot helping out this summer – Noah, Malcolm, Elliott, Michael and Mikey!
