Coast to Coast Surf school was formed in 2004, as a mobile surf school with a simple aim to offer “a good surf lesson on the best beginner beaches”.
We have grown each year since, and now employ high quality instructors in all our sports and operate on both the east and west coast’s of Scotland annually.
The school has a great reputation in Scotland for our surf lessons and coaching. Our youth development programme in 2016 had 4 local children make the Scottish junior team and our head instructor act as team coach for the Scottish juniors in Morrocco European Championships. We have great relationships with clients from all backgrounds, from a wide range of primary and secondary schools, local and national businesses and local and national sports groups. We are also involved with the wave project doing all their current Scottish lessons helping use surfing as a positive force for changing childrens lives!
In 2017 we have a lot of exciting plans…..
Our team also has a strong environmental ethos taking positive steps to look after our coastline, actively supporting regular beach cleans and Surfers Against Sewage.
We have a positive culture within the growing watersport community at Belhaven beach, starting the local Surf Clubs while actively working with other watersports to encourage curtious behaviour – a friendly smile goes a long way! We also host the lowland longboard surf champs which is one of Scotlands top four surfing events and is always a great fun event! And our staff and juniors are currently top 3 in five surfing categories in the recent Scottish Surf Champs.
In 2011 Coast to Coast Adventures was formed, to offer coastal adventures in Stand up Paddling and Coasteering! Developing great coasteer routes and offering stunning stand up paddling in its many forms (flat water/ waves/ downwind and tours).
In 2016 we created new changing facilities at our base in Dunbar and added SUP XL – a super fun group paddle activity. The Dunbar Surf Sprints will take place in June 2017 again, encouraging teams from all over Scotland to come to Dunbar and compete in a range of sprint events from open water swimming, to surf and sup paddle racing.
