BELHAVEN BAY
Coast to Coast run all beginner surf lessons at the beautiful beach of Belhaven. We meet at Linkfield car park (the middle car park for beach) with full directions below.
LINKFIELD CAR PARK (BELHAVEN BAY) BY CAR
From Edinburgh: take A1 south to Dunbar, at the first roundabout at Dunbar on the A1 take the first left (towards Dunbar ), drive for 100m and then at next roundabout take a right (towards Dunbar), on this road take the left around 250m, (towards East Links farm or John Muir Country Park (brown signs). This takes you along a road with speed bumps and white rock passing places. Turn right at the John Muir Country Park sign (Avoid going to far and parking in the East Links family car park) and take next left into the Linkfield car park. This journey takes approx 40mins from Edinburgh if little traffic.
We should be obvious - green van or blue minibus with red 8ft and 9ft surfboards - you can’t miss us. Please phone 07971 990361 if any questions.

LINKFIELD CAR PARK (BELHAVEN BAY) BY TRAIN
Take the East coast London trains from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Dunbar, we should be able to pick you up from Dunbar train station and take you down to your lesson if arranged in advance. The trains are not that regular but very quick 25mins from Edinburgh to Dunbar.
LINKFIELD CAR PARK (BELHAVEN BAY) BY BUS
There are two buses to Dunbar high street from Edinburgh, a sprinter (towns only) takes 50 minutes and a regular bus (towns and villages) takes over 70mins. Both leave from Edinburgh bus station. Get off the bus at the East Links Family park drop off (ask driver) and walk down the road with speed bumps, turn right at John Muir car park sign and then left into the Linkfield car park and you will see us.
LINKFIELD CAR PARK (BELHAVEN BAY) BY BIKE/ FOOT OR TAXI
If taking the train and you want to walk, its roughly 40 minutes walk, the most scenic and simplest route is to walk out of train station, up the station road to the t-junction, turn left and then immediately right onto the High street. Walk along the high street to the round about at the end and take the second left and follow the coastal road North, within 5-10mins walk you will have the Winterfield Golf course on your right and Belhaven will quickly come into view ahead. Walk down the hill and if low tide onto the beach to see us half way along ( you will see the flags and our instructors where we are doing the lesson). If its high tide or there are no surfers on the beach - it is best not to go onto the beach and take the coastla path from the Shore road car park where you are at the moment to the middle of the beach car park or linkfield car park. To do this just walk away from the beach and take the coastal path roughly 100m on your right just after the car park finishes and walk for another 10-15mins along this path crossing the river and you will come to the car park where we are. Alternatively you can walk another 100m onto the main road and turn right and then follow this road for around 20 mins walk, past Belhaven camp site, West Barns and West Barns pub and now you should have fields on both sides for around 100m, then turn right at the John Muir and East Links Family park sign (you know your going the right way if you go over speed bumps and see white rocks). Avoid going into the East Links family park and take the right to John Muir before and left into the Linkfield car park. If you are running late and need to get a taxi the number is 01368 865550 - mention Coast to Coast and the Linkfield car park.
