C2C SURF INSTRUCTORS
Coast to Coast have an experienced surf team that includes five British Surf Association (BSA) Qualified instructors.
Sam is a BSA level 2 coach and NARS beach lifeguard with 20 years surfing experience. On a competitive level, Sam won the 2007 longboarding section of the Scottish Interclub championship.
Josh, Sally, Karel and Tim are BSA level 1 instructors (new BSA 2) with current NARS beach lifeguard qualifications. Josh is the current 2008 Scottish bodyboarding champion with Tim placing 2nd. Both have over three decades surfing and bodyboarding experience between them. Karl is a South African surfer, with world wide surfing experience and a super positive attitude. Sally is the first Scottish female instructor and one of the top local female surfers with loads of experience in community education and sports development!
C2C SURF ASSISTANTS
Coast to Coast have two part time surf assistants. Joe and wee Max.
Joe is a local surfer and paramedic! And wee Max is our local junior surfer who first joined the surf school lessons aged 12, three years on he’s the keenest surfer you’ll ever meet, super friendly and recently came 2nd in the Scottish championships at U18 level.
C2C SEASONAL INSTRUCTORS
We also employ seasonal instructors from overseas, such as Niall from Australia, who brought his experience as a top surf instructor abroad for the last two summers.

C2C SURF SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS
Coast to Coast have all the qualifications and insurances required to ensure you have a safe and fun time in the ocean.
If you are part of a school, community or corporate group and require copies of our public liability insurance or wish to see the relevent risk assessments for your activity day please don’t hesitate to ask! The surf school is also approved by East Lothian, Edinburgh, Midlothian and Borders councils to teach surfing to school and youth groups.
