Tues 9.3.10. This week looks excellent again with surf for all levels, offshore winds and sunshine. Tues pm, weds and Thurs see a lovely unusual long period swell in the 2-3ft range. From Friday swell increases and the weekend should see cracking shoulder to head high plus surf for all levels. Another great weekend for lessons and hires!

The new 2010 tour schedule has gone up with some amazing tours planned. Our first tour kicks off in March with the traditional surf n snow tour, then in April its the WQS Thurso tour, mixing your surfing with the pros and then it picks up with 5 Island trips in a row through May, midsummer and through to the start of September. We return to some favourite magical islands while for our mainland based tours we continue to surf waves where possible off the beaten track. To book in 07971 990361. Two trips are already full so its best to book early!
C2C Social, Environmental & Surf Community new
Belhaven Surf club and Coast to Coast have teamed up to run a Sports Relief sponsored paddle event on the 11th of April. There will be three paddles that people can enter at Belhaven (a 1 mile individual paddle, a 1 mile relay paddle with 3 surfers and a junior 1/4mile paddle). The event is super social and for charity so be great to see a good turn out. If your interested in joining or helping please just get in touch.
Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) and Coast to Coast joined forces on the 27th/28th Feb, with over 30 turing up to help beach clean three local beaches. We collected a load of plastic and other items from the beaches and returned to Coast cafe for well earned hot drinks and an exclusive preview of SAS’s latest surf movie.
C2C Competitions
Last weekend saw the Scottish Surfing Championships in Thurso with the best swells for 5 years for a scottish comp (see photos) and a large turn out. Our East coast surfers did really well with quite a few finalists, Angus Macdonald made the longboard final coming 4th and Sam (c2c instructor) won the Longboarding title. In the seniors shortboarding Jason Burnett finished 3rd with Sam finished just ahead in 2nd and in the juniors our 14 yr old surf assistant Max came 2nd.

Unidentified in the open mens quarterfinals taking advantage of the superb conditions!!
Mark Cameron (scratch) from Fraserburgh won the open mens and seniors. Jill Noble from Fraserburgh won the ladies, Sam the Longboard and a young lad Lewy from Nairn won the Juniors. Staunch sponsored the event. They are a Scottish surf clothing brand and having won a couple of tops I can thoroughly recommend the quality!!
