Coast to Coast Surf School

girlbelhavenCoast to Coast Surf School is based in the coastal town of Dunbar, offering surf , bodyboard and Stand Up paddle lessons at the beautiful beach of Belhaven and East Lothian coastline.

The school provides friendly qualified surf instruction that introduces beginners, improvers and intermediates to the fun of surfing in Scotland. Lessons with Coast to Coast are open to all ages from 7 years upwards.

As Scotland’s leading surf school, we operate with a team of qualified Surf, Bodyboard and SUP instructors, teaching March to November. We offer a very flexible service that allows customers to book in advance or on a weekly basis to tie in with optimum surf or weather conditions!

For the more adventurous we run scottish surf tours to the most remote edges of the Scotlands varied coastline. We even offer the opportunity to meet the local surf population with regular surf barbeques, film nights, parties and competitions.

The Surf School has a surf hub (office and hiring) next to Dunbars train station and operate daily (when surf) from Linkfield car park, Belhaven beach. We can also offer free surf lifts from the station to the beach for all train customers  if arranged in advance.

Some good surf over the next 7 days with a nice swell arriving Thursday and Friday and a bigger swell looking likely for Sunday/Monday onwards next week. This weekend should have small surf Saturday and bigger on Sunday but we are running a tour so won’t be open. Check out http://www.c2csurfschool.com/tours/ for more info.

The new 2012 Surf Tour schedule, Junior summer courses and adult beginner weekends is up with just Tours from August onwards to follow.

C2C ADULT LESSONS, COURSES & HIRES

We can take bookings for individuals or groups for our new season starting March 2012. We offer beginners lessons and skill builder classes for improvers and intermediates in Surfing, Bodyboarding and Stand Up Paddling. We also offer beginner and improver Weekend classes and one to one development surf lessons. We have Family and Student discounts and group offers too! Coast to Coast  are now taking bookings for  Junior lessons and courses starting April 2012. We also cater for School surfing (primary and secondary) and community groups. Click Juniors

Check out our  vouchers page (click voucher ) for choices for presents throughout the year. All vouchers are valid for 12 months and there are a number of courses for all ages and abilities in all three sports. All equipment is also included. C2C NORTH COAST & ISLAND TOURS

Check out Island adventures for current availability on our tours. We offer trips to wonderful locations to combine our multi sport instruction in surf, SUP and bodyboarding. We visit the most amazing islands and beaches Scotland has to offer, with a stunning backdrop to wake up to, wonderful beaches to practice on and great social environment for the week. All our staff and customers love the trips to these islands and the stoke is infectious!

C2C STAND UP PADDLING (SUP)

Coast to Coast run Stand Up Paddle lessons and courses throughout the year. The SUP board is the perfect craft for cruising the coastline on flat days,  exploring caves, reefs, deserted beaches and coves. On windy days we also offer inland river, estuary and loch lessons. Add on the dimension of surfing waves or down winding, surfing open ocean swell and you can also get your adrenaline rush! Coast to Coast have Qualified ASI SUP instructors and we offer introductory and progressive lessons and tours that cover paddle and turning technique, equipment terminology and safety.

Beginners 2 hour lessons and tours cost £35 with day tours costing £65 (4 hours on the water plus break for lunch). All lessons and tours include equipment (wetsuit/board and paddle). We offer individual lessons and can teach groups up to 6. To find out more get in touch.

C2C BODYBOARDING

With over 50% of all Europes wave riders being bodyboarders, we thought it was about time we introduced bodyboard lessons to Scotland. On a basic level bodyboarding offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the rush of catching waves and learning turning and speed skills. The lighter softer bodyboards offer dual benefits of safety in the water and a much smaller craft to transport.

The sport at an advanced level is explosive and truely acrobatic with bodyboards consistently at the forefront of pushing whats possible on a wave! Coast to Coast have two of our Senior instructors finishing 1st and 2nd in the last Scottish Bodyboarding championships with over 35 years experience between them and they have helped design  Coast to Coast Bodyboard programme that covers 12 lessons and 4 courses from catching your first wave through to how to project your first aerial manouver. Lessons cost £35, Day classes £65 (2 lessons same day) and we have introduced our first Bodyboard and Surfing tours this year Island adventures. Get in touch if you want to find out more?
